Battle brewing for seat on Raynham Board of Selectmen in upcoming Town Election
There are now two candidates for a seat on the Raynham Board of Selectmen that was left open after Donald McKinnon announced that he will not run again. James Burns, a self-proclaimed Tea Party candidate, is running for a three-year term on the Board of Selectmen against Karen Roberts, a manager at the Raynham Park dog track, which is pursuing a state license for a 1,250 machine slot parlor.

Raynham's estimated school payment up $700K
The assessments for Raynham and Bridgewater would have to go up by nearly $2 million next year just to cover the school district’s fixed cost increases, the district’s budget subcommittee estimated.

Raynham Park sets sights on slots
Raynham Park owner George Carney hopes he can get his hands on the sole slot parlor license included in the state’s gaming bill passed last year. Landing the license could help restore at least 350 jobs eliminated at his business as a result of a 2008 ban on dog racing approved by Massachusetts voter referendum.
